Privacy Policy

This page explains what Tria.RU collects, why, and what it deliberately does not do. It covers the Tria.RU website — including channels served on their own custom domains — and the Android apps Tria.RU (phone and tablet) and Tria TV.
Who runs this service
Tria.RU is a self-hosted video platform. The website, the database, the video files and the machines that encode them are all operated by Tria.RU itself, on its own hardware. There is no hosting company, ad network or analytics vendor standing between you and us.
That also means we are the only party that decides what happens to your data — and the only party able to read it.
What is collected
Only what the service needs in order to work:
- Account: your email address, display name and channel handle. Your password is stored only as a hash, never in readable form.
- Profile details you choose to add yourself — a bio, a website, your primary language, and optional contact fields. Leave them blank and nothing is stored.
- Content you upload: video files, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, subtitles and audio tracks, along with the comments you write.
- What you do here: watch history and the position you stopped at in each video (so playback resumes on your other devices), likes and dislikes, comments, subscriptions and your Watch Later list.
- Technical data: your IP address, from which an approximate location (country, region, city) is derived for our own audience statistics; the device, browser and operating system your client reports; and a random identifier created once per browser or per app install, used so that one view is counted once rather than many times.
Why it is collected
Every item above has a purpose:
- to run your account and let you sign in;
- to resume playback exactly where you left off, on any device;
- to show subscriptions, reactions and comments, and to notify you when a channel you follow publishes something new;
- to count views and to see, in aggregate, which videos are watched and roughly where from;
- to keep the service running and to deal with spam, abuse and attacks.
Where the data lives
On our own servers. The database, the video files and the encoding and AI machines are all hardware we operate ourselves; nothing is handed to an outside processor, cloud analytics service or advertising partner. Automatic transcription, subtitle translation and audio clean-up also run on our own machines — your video is not sent to an external AI provider.
Your data is not sold, rented or traded, and it is not shared with third parties. It would be disclosed only where the law requires it, or to defend the service and its users against concrete abuse.
What is never done
Stated plainly, because it has become unusual enough to be worth saying:
- No advertising anywhere on the site or in the apps, and no advertising SDKs.
- No third-party trackers, tag managers or external analytics services. Every statistic is computed by our own code from our own records.
- No Google Play Services, no Firebase, no Google Analytics, and no Meta, TikTok or other social-network SDKs. The apps run on devices with no Google services at all.
- No sale of data, no data brokers, and no profiles assembled for anyone else.
- No cross-site tracking and no browser fingerprinting. The identifier used for counting is a plain random value and says nothing about you.
Push notifications
The apps can notify you when a channel you follow publishes a video, and let you send a video from your phone to Tria TV. Both travel through an ntfy relay that we host ourselves — not Firebase, and not any commercial push service.
Each install invents its own random, unguessable topic name and registers it. The relay carries only the channel name, the video title and a link — or, for send-to-TV, the video and the playback position. No email address, account name or device identity travels through it. Notifications can be switched off, and a device unpaired, in the app at any time.
Cookies
First-party cookies only. There are no third-party cookies and no advertising cookies.
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in — set only once you sign in.
- A cookie that remembers the interface language you chose.
- A random visitor identifier used for de-duplicated view and visitor counts. In the apps an equivalent per-install random value is sent as a header instead of a cookie.
Your choices
You stay in control of what is here:
- Edit or clear your profile details at any time in Settings.
- Clear your watch history — a single entry or all of it — from the History page.
- Turn off new-video notifications, or remove a device entirely, in the app.
- Request deletion of your account. Deletion removes the account together with its videos, comments and reactions, and cannot be undone.
How long it is kept
Your account, your videos and your history stay until you change or delete them. Raw analytics records — individual visits and views, including the IP address — are kept only for a short rolling window (30 days by default) and are then pruned automatically. What remains afterwards is aggregated daily counts, which hold no IP addresses and cannot be traced back to a person.
Deleting an account removes its data from the live service; copies may persist briefly in routine backups until those age out.
Children
The service is not directed at children, and people under 16 should not create an account. Videos are published by users themselves, which is also why the mobile and TV apps carry a 16+ age rating.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page under a new date. Substantial changes are announced on the site rather than made quietly.
Contact
Tria.RU is run directly by its operator, so there is no outside support desk to write to: questions about this policy, corrections, and requests to delete an account and its content all go to the site administrator. Reach an administrator through the site — the same route Settings points to for changing your email address — writing from the address on your account so the request can be verified. Every such request is answered.
